What’s Happening on the Development Front

If you have been out and about in our community lately, you have undoubtedly noticed some changes in the works. Some new businesses have taken up residence in old places, plus there is some new construction and improvement also underway.

The new Audi dealership construction on 77th Street just north of 494 is under construction and making good progress. The dealership is on the sites of the former Airport Bowl, Backyard Grill, Ace Car Rental, and 2nd Wind Exercise Equipment. Giordano’s Pizza is scheduled to open late summer 2016 in the old Baker’s Square Building on West 66th Street near Southdale Center. Champp’s has closed, but Hennepin County will operate a clinic onsite. The Golden Corral is looking at acquiring several Minnesota locations of closed Old Country Buffet restaurants, which could include the Richfield location in the future. The former Ellis Drum Shop is being converted to a private music studio and band practice space. Sheridan Villas is a five unit townhome development on the former “farmhouse” site at 2517 West 76th Street. The Pacific Auto Care project will involve the conversion of the former Sinclair gas station into an automobile repair business.
