Back to School!

Welcome to September! The State Fair has come and gone and the kids are officially back in school. That means we will be wrapping up 3rd quarter and looking to finish the year strong. It’s time to take stock with your company’s performance for the year. Are you on track for meeting your goals?

September is a great time to schedule an appointment with your accountant to review your bottom line and plan ahead for year end. If you don’t have a great accountant, why don’t you call a chamber member. Click on the directory here and access our list of competent companies.

I would also like to highlight our featured member this month, Midland Title. Through their best business practices, and putting their clients first, Midland has recently opened its third location in Grand Rapids. Check out their feature on the chamber home page to learn more about this company on the rise. Colleen Nagle is the Business Development Director at Midland Title and an active Chamber member. Chances are, if you have been at any Chamber event over the past year, you have crossed paths with Colleen, our Chamber Board Chair. If there is ever a connection you need to make, Colleen can help you do it. Through her time at Midland Title, she has developed an impressive contact list through her Chamber network and can point you in the right direction.

Community –
A few Richfield Graduates from the 70’s are hosting a benefit for our friend, Wade Whipps, who is suffering from inoperable stage 4 colon cancer. We are trying to raise money for his medical needs. We will be hosting a benefit at the new Amphitheater in Richfield on September 9 & 16. Many bands will be playing and we would love if Richfield businesses would contribute something to our silent auction. Please contact Julie Howard at simsduluth@aol.com to donate. Thank you!
