Marion Dauner

General Manager of Vinocopia

Tell me a little about you: where are you from?
Family?
Originally from Middle River, a small town in the far NW corner of Minnesota, just North of Thief River Falls. Have lived in the Twin City Metro for nearly 50 years. My two daughters graduated from Bloomington Kennedy and I have one granddaughter. All live in the Twin Cities.

Please describe what company you are with, your job title, and what you do for this company.
General Manager of Vinocopia – wholesale distributor of wines and spirits, specializing in smaller brands – craft distilled spirits and family-owned wineries. Vinocopia’s parent company owns two Piattelli wineries in Argentina – one in Mendoza and the second in Salta. Vinocopia has grown since it’s beginning in 2006, to a sales force of 21, serving the entire State of Minnesota. We are known as the “go to” company for specialty wines and spirits.

What inspired you to join the Chamber? How has your experience been with the chamber?
Our neighbor, and customer, Bill Fillmore, the Director of Liquor Operations for the City of Richfield introduced us to the Chamber. Although not able to participate in a lot of the events, I am proud to be a part of this vibrant organization and pleased to participate and support when I can.

What do you do when you are not at
work?
Spending time with my family is about my only non-work activity. Due to the social nature of the beverage alcohol industry, I am able to consider eating in nice restaurants, conducting wine and spirit tastings and seminars to be work!
