Pam Dmytrenko

Assistant City Manager/Human Resources Manager for the City of Richfield

Tell me a little about you: where are you from?
Family?
Although I grew up next door, in Edina, my mom was raised in Richfield and my siblings and I spent a lot of time here visiting my grandparents (my grandmother worked for Richfield Public Schools for 30 years!). Now, my family is all scattered and I’m the only one remaining in Minnesota.  My son lives in Madison and my daughter is in Tokyo!

Please describe what company you are with, your job title, and what you do for this company.
I am the Assistant City Manager/Human Resources Manager for the City of Richfield.  I’ve worked for the City over 15 years.  My job includes project management, communications, airport oversight, policy development and labor relations. One of the greatest & most rewarding challenges of my career was serving as a project manager for the new Municipal Center, which was completed in June 2011.

What inspired you to join the Chamber? How has your experience been with the chamber?
Joining the Chamber provides me the opportunity to meet members of our community who share a genuine concern and interest in what goes on in Richfield.  It’s a great way to gain insights and feedback into how the City can serve and partner with our businesses. Plus, I have an affinity for the Chamber.  I worked for the American Chamber of Commerce in London many years ago when I lived in England.

What do you do when you are not at
work?
I’m a travel nut.  I’ve logged a lot of miles over the years to India, New Zealand, Europe and Japan.  Part of that is because my kids have chosen to study and live in remote parts of the world and I enjoy experiencing those places with them. When I’m in town, I love biking, playing tennis and checking out new restaurants and brewpubs with friends.
