Richfield Reviews by Nicole Sobania
In this edition of Richfield Reviews I will be reviewing El Tejaban Mexican Grill, authentic Mexican cuisine. The first thing I noticed upon entering the restaurant was the wide variety of bold Mexican décor throughout the entire place. A little background about this restaurant: it is a family owned and operated restaurant and they pride themselves in providing the best tasting and most authentic Mexican cuisine. Chances are when you visit you will see that Miguel, the owner, is busy in the kitchen.
El Tejaban Mexican Grill Experience
When I first entered El Tejaban I was promptly greeted by the waiter who sat me at my table and took my drink order. It was a Friday afternoon and the restaurant was quiet with only a few other diners. I immediately noticed that the restaurant was filled with authentic Mexican furnishings and was extremely clean. On my visit I ordered a veggie burrito, in which there were 2 options for me to pick from: one which I would call “loaded” and the other which was more of a “basic” veggie burrito. I ordered the loaded veggie burrito and was also served a basket of complimentary chips, which were still warm from cooking. The chips were also served with two different types of salsa: one was very mild flavored and the other was a little bit on the spicy side. While I ordered a vegetarian option on my visit, it is important to note that their menu was huge, full of a ton of steak, chicken, pork, seafood, and vegetarian options. They also had a full bar in which you can score some awesome happy hour deals.
The wait time on my order was relatively short and I was amazed at the size of the burrito, definitely more than I could eat, but leftovers are always great! The burrito was packed full of fresh veggies, beans, and rice. It also came with a side of fresh made guacamole, sour cream, and lettuce to top the burrito off with.
On my visit the owner also allowed me to take a peek inside the kitchen, which at first glance was immaculate, one of the cleanest restaurant kitchens I have ever seen. It was also great to see all staff members wearing gloves while preparing the food.
Overall, I highly recommend El Tejaban Mexican Grill the next time you are craving some tasty authentic Mexican food and don’t forget to order a Margarita to wash it down!
