Richfield Reviews by Kerry Galbraith

In this edition of Richfield Reviews, we’re going shopping at Assistance League Thrift! This all-volunteer, non-profit organization boasts a wide variety of merchandise for a good cause with 90% of their revenue going towards philanthropic programs. Assistance League Thrift’s hands-on programs work to feed and clothe children, enhance and enrich education, and support the Richfield community.

My Experience at Assistance League Thrift

This quaint, clean little establishment was bustling with activity when I arrived just before lunch on a Thursday. With plenty of warm, friendly staff to help you find what you’re looking for, the wide selection of merchandise becomes manageable. With soft music playing in the background, I picked my way through a well curated selection of apparel, shoes, accessories, dishes, books, and home decor items. Assistance League Thrift avoids the overwhelming, rummage sale feeling that so often accompanies thrift store bargain shopping and instead you’ll feel calm and well taken care of here. Dressing rooms are available for trying clothing, and second opinions on outfits come free of charge from the friendly staff! The perfect little thrift store for the budget conscious shopper looking for a gem.

Other Things of Note

Whether you are looking for a great bargain on name brand clothing, or a unique vintage find, Assistance League Thrift is a great option. Though their inventory is constantly changing, current name brands of note included Nike, Adidas, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Liz Claiborne, Banana Republic and Coldwater Creek to name a few. Tucked away in the back of the store I even found a pair of Christian Dior hosiery!

Wrapping it All Up

Overall, this is a great little local thrift store to check out, especially if you like knowing that your hard earned money is going towards something that helps support your community. Assistance League Thrift’s variety of merchandise and hands-on approach to philanthropy is as impressive as it is inspiring. Check it out!
