This afternoon over the noon hour, Angie Schaefbauer, President of the Richfield Chamber of Commerce (RCofC), attended a luncheon for the Metropolitan Council of Chambers of Commerce (MCCC) at the Daily Diner in St. Paul, which is more than a typical restaurant.
As an outreach of the Union Gospel Mission, the Daily Diner not only serves the finest breakfast, lunch, and dinner along University Avenue, they also help those hungry for a fresh start as they transition out of homelessness. Utilizing the Our Daily Bread vocational-training program, the Union Gospel Mission teaches real-world food service skills to our students, equipping them with the tools necessary to work in the hospitality industry when they graduate. At the Daily Diner, students learn time management, customer service, multitasking, and kitchen skills and practice these skills in a full-service restaurant setting, working side by side with professional hospitality staff.
The Metropolitan Council of Chambers of Commerce is a united coalition of over 30 Chambers of Commerce in the Twin Cities region, who have met monthly for over 25 years, to network and discuss developing metro business issues, trends and professional development. It is the one place where every month, both large and small Chamber Executives meet with each other and top industry, state & local political officials seeking business perspectives and solutions concerning jobs and metro-centric economic development issues. In addition to metro Chambers, the US Chamber and the Minnesota Chamber are also active partners.
