I’m a caretaker, father, husband, academic, business owner, and health and fitness industry expert. My week is dominated by family care, coaching hours, business management, investing in and assisting with my wife’s businesses and philanthropic endeavors, and educating peers on career-pathing and finer points of industry do’s and don’ts.
The fact of the matter is that this city is the most genuine and complete community in the state. It’s inarguably the most central location in the greater metro area. Every outer suburb is equidistant from the middle of Richfield. Richfield has all the presence without any of the pretentiousness. I know and like every person on my block. They know me and my kids. Some are practically family. And no matter how many people from other parts of Minnesota tell me how great their respective cities are, almost none even know their neighbors, let alone befriend and regularly hang out with their neighbors. People tell me how great Edina is, or Eden Prairie, or Wayzata, or Stillwater, or Prior Lake. “Great,” I say, “and who are your top five favorite neighbors?” Most times they don’t even know a single one.
There’s a special realness in Richfield which has played a strong role in how I’ve become who I am. I aim to return to it as much as I’ve received and more. I’ve hired, developed, and/or managed hundreds of employees thanks to the start I had here. I’ve had great feedback and input from them and as many peers and clients who are all over the world. I understand people, systems, and personal growth at a level which compels advanced professionals in the medical and fitness world to hire me to coach them. To be able to offer any of this experience back in the form of input as a board member is more than an honor and yet another testament to the outreach of people in this city.
Corey Nagel
I grew up in St. Anthony, Minnesota and moved to Richfield in 2011. I currently reside there with my wife (and Chamber President) Kelsey and our children Piper and Locke. I have worked for My Credit Union (formerly RBCU) for 7 years and have been in the banking industry for almost 15 years. My role with MyCU is overseeing their Contact Center as well as their Online/Digital Banking. Each day I help assist MyCU Members who are residents and business members of the Richfield and surrounding area. I help Kelsey with Chamber activity because I care about the community I work and live in. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, working on the yard, golfing and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

Katie Rodriguez
I was appointed Richfield city manager on January 2, 2019. I came to Richfield from the
Metropolitan Council where I served as a council member for District 1. Prior to joining Richfield, I worked in finance for the Minnesota League of Women Voters and for three cities in Illinois.
As the Richfield city manager, I am responsible for overseeing nine departments and reports directly to the city council. Further responsibilities of the city manager include overseeing general city operations, finance, human resources, legislation and litigation. Over the past two years, I have focused my energies building on Richfield’s strengths and creating an organization
that is equitable, fiscally responsible and community centered.
I received both my Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and my Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of Illinois.
