Welcome to the weekly update! We are in our first week, post Memorial Day, and with that, the unofficial start to summer. In The Chamber’s ongoing effort to keep you updated on road construction, particularly 66th street, we have added City Transportation Engineer, Jack Broz to the Monthly Member Meeting to give an update and answer any questions. This week on 66th Street, Traffic control (including lane shifts and lane closures) will be set up between Penn and Xerxes Avenues for upcoming construction. Crews will continue removing and replacing various underground utilities between Morgan and Penn Avenues. Crews will also pave the road between Humboldt and Knox Avenues. Road closures (1-2 blocks at a time) will continue to occur along the corridor. Stay “in the know” by visiting the Hennepin County website.
If you are finding it difficult to get around, did you know that Commuter Services offers customized mass transit options for you and your employees. They can provide your employees the best bike route, they can set your employees up with a ride share program, and even let you know what tax incentives are available to you if your company offers Commuter Services. These are just a few of the many options available for ride share services. If you and your employees want to take a break from traffic this summer, reach out to me and I will help you get started.
