Recently, the four BEER Chamber executives for the Bloomington, Edina, Eden Prairie and Richfield Chambers of Commerce met to discuss and begin planning for next year’s BEER series. For our new members, BEER programs are held quarterly, hosted in a rotating fashion by each of the four Chambers, and are open to the combined membership of the organizations.
As we begin looking ahead to the 2017 programs, BEER will incorporate four quarterly topics under an overarching umbrella or theme. This year’s theme is tentatively titled “Navigating Troubled Business Waters”, and will focus on issues that will demand the attention of businesses of all sizes to help them successfully adapt and respond to business regulations, employment ordinances, and an increasingly competitive business climate. Some possible areas for discussion include preventing a patchwork of safe and sick leave ordinances, successfully navigating the federal regulatory process, remaining competitive in today’s marketplace, and understanding the implications of future economic forecasts for Minnesota businesses as identified by sources such as The Center of the American Experiment.
Save the date for Richfield’s 2017 BEER program set for May 11th. If you are a business interested in sponsoring the BEER series or exploring a program sponsorship, contact me at 612.866.5100.
