Diana Welter

Associate Director of Career Services for Minnesota School of Business

Tell me a little about you: where are you from?
I was born and raised in Grand Forks, ND. I lived through many floods and decided after the floor of 1997 that I would move to the Cities. I have worked in the Education field for over 18 years mostly as an instructor. My favorite course to teach is Public Speaking because there is so much fear and I try to take the fear out of it and make it enjoyable. I have two kids and two grandbabies that are 2 & 3 (called Irish Twins) since they are 13
months apart.

Please describe what company you are with, your
job title, and what you do for this company.
I work for Minnesota School of Business in Richfield as the Associate Director of Career Services (ADOCS). When I was an instructor, I would help them learn how to communicate effectively and watch them grow and learn in their college education. As the ADOCS, I see the finished product and can
help them find a position in their field. It is very rewarding.

What inspired you to join the Chamber?
I was introduced to the Chamber as part of the College and it has been a enjoyable experience. Networking is something we instill in our students and being a part of the Chambers reinforces to my students the benefits of networking.

What do you do when you are not at
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with family, working out and reading. I just bought a small lake place last September and only got to spend two weekends there before we had to close it up for the Winter so I’m excited to be able to enjoy time at the lake this Summer.
