Katie Robison

Member of the Richfield Chamber of Commerce with Two Organizations

Tell me a little about you: where are you from?
I was born and raised in the great city of Richfield, MN.  I graduated from Richfield High School in 2004 and completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies at Concordia University, St. Paul. My mom still lives in my childhood home in Richfield, my sister and her family reside in Richfield and my brother and his wife call Minneapolis home.

Please describe what company you are with, your job title, and what you do for this company.
I am a member of the Richfield Chamber of Commerce with two organizations. The first is my family’s transportation company, Physical Distribution Services, Inc.  Owned by my father for over thirty years, day to day operations are controlled by me, my sister and brother (all graduates of Richfield High School).  We provide driver, employee and equipment leasing to transportation companies all over the United States. The second is the Richfield 4th of July Committee.  Several years ago, I committed to taking over the responsibility of Family Night, the event that kicks off our annual 4th of July celebration.  After a couple of years in that position, I was nominated and voted in as president and have been in that role ever since.

What inspired you to join the Chamber? How has your experience been with the chamber?
Specifically in regard to the 4th of July Committee’s membership, I really enjoyed the idea of being able to touch base with all those local businesses that had supported and continued to support our celebration.  It also would give me the opportunity to encourage more businesses and citizens to get involved. The experience has been great!

What do you do when you are not at
When I am not at work, I enjoy traveling, organizing, relaxing and spending time with friends and family.
