Dr. Melanie Johnson

Podiatrist at Midwest Podiatry Centers

Tell me a little about you: where are you from?
Hi there, my name is Melanie Johnson and I am originally from Youngstown, Ohio. I grew up in a small rural community and learned to love the outdoors at an early age. I am very blessed to be part of a large Irish family with over thirty first cousins – big families are the best! It actually was family that brought me to Minnesota, my sister and her husband live here. We have always been two peas in a pod and I couldn’t imagine being SO far away from her! Hopefully we are not too close now as we moved in right across the street!

Please describe what company you are with, your job title, and what you do for this company.
I was fortunate to be offered a position with Midwest Podiatry Centers upon arriving in Minnesota. I am currently an associate Podiatrist and see patients at our Richfield, St. Anthony, and Blaine locations. I am passionate about all spectrums of podiatry, however diabetic foot care and wound care/limb salvage cases are especially important to me. Having spent three years at the Cleveland VA for my surgical residency I have been exposed to a wonderful host of experiences that I am able to use to better serve my patients.

What inspired you to join the Chamber? How has your experience been with the chamber?
We decided to join the Richfield Chamber as a way to increase our visibility in the community and to  build relationships and partnerships in the city. Our practice focuses on prevention and because many residents are unaware that they can see a podiatrist without a referral they often wait for the problem to worsen. We want to avoid this situation by spreading the word about our clinics. The Chamber has treated us well and has hosted many events that have allowed us to network and establish relationships with other practices. As an avenue for community involvement, it doesn’t get much better than the Richfield Chamber.

What do you do when you are not at
When I’m not at work I love spending time with my family especially my husband and our little pup, Sadie. Reading, gardening, and watching HGTV are also some of my favorites!
