The Power of Networking Within the Chamber Community

Welcome to Community Connections! This week, instead of featuring one Chamber member, I wanted to share with you the power of networking within the Chamber Community.  The following story is a great example of the importance of a Community Connection. A request came in about a military family preparing for deployment. While they are getting things in order, their a/c unit went out. The unit is over 20 years old it has been repaired several times. This time it is just done and needs to be replaced. Well, replacing an a/c unit is an added expense that the family wasn’t expecting, to deal with that, on top of preparing for deployment creates a stressful situation. So, a request for assistance was solicited.  The request started with the 133rd Airlift Wing. They reached out to some business contacts they knew. One of whom, was a member of the Midway Chamber of Commerce.

Being that the family lives in Richfield, the Midway Chamber reached out to us. I reached out to Board member Nic Romero, due to his involvement with Time on the Water, to see if he knew of any resources we could utilize to help this family. Nic then suggested Tiger Heating and Air, an Eden Prairie Chamber member because he had met them at a Chamber B.E.E.R. event. So the next call was to Pat MulQueeny, President of the Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce to see if he would reach out to his member. Well, turns out Steve Bowman, Tiger’s Installation Manager, also serves on the Eden Prairie Board of Directors and instantly agreed to help the military family out! This is an example of Chamber Members connecting in the best way possible and a testament to the high caliber of businesses proud to call themselves Chamber members. Thank you to Tiger Plumbing Heating & Air for your generosity!
