Richfield Reviews by Nicole Sobania
I will be reviewing Andale Taqueria & Mercado in this edition of Richfield Reviews. Upon first glance you will notice that there is both a restaurant to dine in at and Hispanic grocery store. A little about Andale Taqueria & Mercado is that the atmosphere along with the taste of the food is very authentic. You will find a variety of fresh product, fresh meats, homemade desserts and much more. Next door is the made to order street food originating in Mexico City along with their homemade cooking of traditional soups and stews.
Andale Taqueria & Mercado Experience
On my visit I had the opportunity to visit both the dine-in facility as well as the grocery store. I first entered the restaurant and my immediate impression was the food must be amazing because the entire place was packed. The chefs cook out in the open where all diners can see their food being prepared and I immediately noticed the cleanliness of their cooking stations and that all the cooks were wearing gloves. Besides being extremely clean, the cooks and staff members were fast! While the restaurant was very busy the food hardly took anytime at all to receive. The restaurant was also decked in colorful décor making it feel like you were in Mexico with bright greens, oranges, and reds. My only complaint was it was very warm in the restaurant, but this could definitely because they were so busy.
After my visit to the dine-in facility I made my way next door to the grocery store. If you have ever been to Mexico you will notice the culture and atmosphere of this market feels exactly like grocery shopping in Mexico. Upon first entering you will notice a huge selection of fresh baked breads and pastries that are all homemade. Next you will probably notice all of the colorful piñatas hanging from the ceiling, which is a very fun touch. The grocery store was packed with authentic Mexican cuisine including everything from fresh produce, extensive fresh meat selections, a hot deli, and much more! One of my favorite things I saw on my visit was watching the staff members make fresh tamales that would be sold later in the day.
Overall, I cannot speak highly enough of both the dine-in restaurant and the grocery store. I loved the atmosphere and all the staff members were extremely friendly. You can be certain if you visit either of these places that you are only getting the highest quality and most authentic Mexican cuisine possible.
