Fireside Pizza has been a fixture in Richfield for as long as I can remember. It was the place to get pizza and a pitcher of beer. Recently they have undergone a complete remodel and they changed the name to Fireside Foundry to reflect the many changes they have made. But don’t worry, they still have great pizza and beer.
When you walk into Fireside Foundry, you’ll notice the “steam punk” décor. It looks somewhat upscale but still comfortable. They have added a very nice bar area and with that comes craft beer and cocktails. In seating, you have a choice between a dining area and high tops in the bar area and on nice days you can sit on the roomy and comfortable patio.
We sat in the bar area. It was preseason so we watched the start of a Vikings game on the many big screen TV’s in the bar area.
There is a good selection of beer, some wine and wide variety of cocktails. The beer I ordered was in a frosty glass. The menu was familiar with pizza, burgers, sandwiches and more. It’s easy to find something for anyone. It was with great relief we found the pizza is unchanged.
The menu offers something for everyone, the service was very good, and the décor is fresh and appealing. The outdoor seating looks great (it was raining when we went). The restaurant was crowded, but at 6:30 on a Saturday, we had no trouble getting a table right away. This is a great place for a date or for a family night or to go watch a football game.
