Four Points Sheraton Minneapolis

Location Information
7745 Lyndale Avenue South
Richfield, MN 55423

This contemporary gem, formerly the Ramada Minneapolis Airport West, is nestled conveniently on the corner of Lyndale and 76th, just north of the I-494/Lyndale Avenue South exit. After undergoing a two-plus year makeover, this 146 room Starwood property boasts modern conveniences, stylish on-trend décor and a location that makes getting to the airport, Mall of America and the Bloomington strip all a breeze.

On my first visit to meet with Four Points Sheraton Minneapolis’ Director of Sales and Marketing, Tom Gilson, I was pleasantly surprised upon entering the lobby. Right away, I noticed the well-done, modern décor and artwork which made me feel as though I had stepped into an urban boutique hotel. I was promptly greeted with smiles and genuine conversation by a full front desk staff. During this mid-morning, weekday visit, a few guests were milling about and a small group was taking advantage of the open meeting space in the guest lounge which is equipped with free wi-fi, library-style workspace, full-wall big screen TV. Also on property is another small, closed-door conference room for private meetings. These conveniences along with a free boarding pass print station, flight arrival/departure leader board, touch screen TV with area information and weather, free shuttle to and from airport and Mall of America, plus a full bar and dine-in café as well as room service make it a smart, convenient choice for business travelers.

The King Suite room that I stayed in had a mini-kitchen with refrigerator, Keurig coffeemaker and Caribou K-cups. The room was as contemporary, stylish, comfortable and clean, just as the photos shown on the website and the bathroom in the King Suite was to die for with a jet soaker tub, dual headed shower, flat screen TV and white subway tile throughout. The king bed and pillows were a traveler’s dream along with the convenience of having several electrical outlets built into the side of the nightstand. Nice! While I sadly did not have time to enjoy the pool or the hot tub, I took a peek and both also look exactly the way they are depicted on the website. The Four Points website does a really nice job of walking you through the property with the video on their home page and gives a thorough and accurate account of the property’s accommodations, amenities and area information. Another great touch is the modern, fully-stocked bar which is open each night. Each Four Points serves a different local showcase beer depending upon its locale and for the Richfield location, the highlight beer is from Summit Brewing. Every Wednesday, the bar hosts “Best Brews” and offers FREE BBQ and beer to their hotel guests from 5-7pm. This is open to non-hotel guests as well for $10. What a deal!

Since I was booked under the Mall of America package, which includes a tote bag, two bottles of water and an MOA coupon book ($10 value), I took the shuttle over to MOA to do a little bit of browsing and grab some dinner. The shuttle leaves the hotel on the hour every hour to MOA and the airport but it should be noted that on the way back, it follows a different schedule so be sure to ask about transport times back before departing the hotel. Both my workout in the fully equipped, state-of-the-art workout room and breakfast in the café the next morning were a delight. The workout room was my dream in-house fitness center complete with Lifetime machines, free weights, yoga mats, towels, mirrors and spot-on design and layout. My made-to-order omelet was delicious and the friendly staff created an extremely pleasant start to my day. I highly recommend this hotel for both families and business travelers, or those wanting a bit of urban oasis on a budget.
