7640 Cedar Ave S
Richfield, MN 55423
The great thing about staying in Richfield when you visit the Twin Cities is that it is close to everything and there is a wide range of choices on where to stay during your visit. The Motel 6 is a great example of a nice place to stay that is affordable and convenient.
This hotel is very easy to find at the intersections of Interstate 494 and Highway 77 (Cedar Ave), you can get there from either frontage road. It is only about 10 mins from the airport, 3 miles to the Mall of America and about 10 miles to downtown Minneapolis.
On entering the Motel 6, it seems like almost any other budget hotel. There is vending near the entrance and then the office. One thing you notice right away is how brightly lit it is. The motel just underwent a major renovation and it shows.
On entering the room my first thought was “wow, this is really nice”. The first thing I noticed was the flooring, which was a high quality laminate (looks like nice wood floors). The room I was in had a king sized bed and a desk. The décor was very nice and updated. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was brand new and very nice. Definitely not what you expect at this price point. The room also had an LCD TV and WiFi. The room I was in faced a city park and was very quiet. I did get a chance to check out a room with two queens and found it to be very spacious.
The recent renovation of the Motel 6 is very nice. Bright, spacious and clean rooms make it feel like you are staying at a much more expensive hotel. I’d recommend asking for a park view room if they are available.
The Motel 6 is located at 7640 Cedar Ave S, Richfield, MN 55423. It can be accessed via the 494 frontage road or from Cedar Avenue. There are several restaurants down on 66th and Cedar near the Target Super Store.
