Richfield Reviews by Kerry Galbraith
My co-workers and I stopped in to the new Giordano’s restaurant on 66th Street, near the Southdale Center, for lunch. Giordano’s opened its first Twin Cities location in Uptown last summer, and Richfield now hosts its second location. Famous for its grilled stuffed Chicago-style pizza, the pizza joint has several locations across the country, with more to come. I was happy to see more than just their famous deep dish pizzas on the menu at Giordano’s. They also have delicious salads, sandwiches, pastas, and even thin crust pizza. I enjoyed the House Chopped Salad while my co-workers took advantage of the $7.95 lunch specials which includes a personal deep dish pizza and side salad.
Giordano’s is a great addition to Richfield with a family friendly atmosphere and trendy decor. The full bar looked big enough for a crowd and would be a great place to hang out after work with friends. Considered by many to be Chicago’s “best” deep dish pizza place, the restaurant is a must try for Richfield residents. If you’re looking for the full experience, order a fresh deep dish pizza, but be prepared to wait as these 3″ thick pizzas take roughly 45 minutes to make. What makes deep dish pizza so special, is the crispy crust with high edges to hold in tons of cheese and a heavy layer of sauce on top. If you’re the type of person that thinks bigger is better, you’ll love a Chicago-style deep dish pizza.
Beyond the restaurant, Giordano’s also offers catering services. Whether you are planning a business lunch or social event, Giordano’s has great selections for your whole group. From salads, starters, sandwich trays, Italian specialties, and of course, their famous deep dish stuffed pizza, there will surely be something for everyone at your next event.
