Richfield Review: Hot Comics and Collectibles

I stopped in to Hot Comics and Collectibles at 6609 Nicollet Avenue South in Richfield around 4:30pm on a Thursday afternoon. In the market for a birthday gift for my brother, I was excited to check out this store, especially after reading the glowing reviews on Yelp.

In the Comic Business for Over Twenty Years

For over two decades, Hot Comics and Collectibles has provided the Twin Cities with a wide variety of comic books and collectible toys. The staff at Hot Comics and Collectibles are as friendly and patient as they are knowledgeable. Despite my lack of knowledge and experience, the man who helped me out showed me a wide variety of both mainstream and obscure comics that he thought would appeal to my 23 year old brother. I was blown away by the killer artwork and intricate storylines of these comics. Gone are misperceptions that comic books are for socially awkward boys who hang out in their parents’ basements. Rather, Hot Comics and Collectibles has walls lined with comics that would appeal to every demographic under the sun.

Buy Their Annual Discount Card and Save on All Purchases

Collectible toys and figurines are also a big seller at Hot Comics and Collectibles. One of their more impressive collectibles is a Doctor Doom statue with an imposing cape and hood. The statue stands about 20 inches high and is perfect for the serious collector. The people at Hot Comics and Collectibles know that your comic addiction can get expensive, so they offer an annual $15 discount card that buys you 10% off every regular purchase you make.

If you are a collector yourself, or shopping for the perfect gift, I highly recommend stopping in to this clean, spacious store to have a look around. Talk to a friendly employee, who obviously loves what they do, and take their advice on some interesting, obscure comic books. With inventory that is constantly changing, you’re sure to find some real gems at this great local shop!
