Richfield Reviews by Kerry Galbraith
Don Pablo’s offers a wide variety of Tex-Mex favorites including Quesadillas, Tacos, and Fajitas. Whether you’re looking for a quick lunch spot during the work day, or want to enjoy dinner out with your family, Don Pablo’s is a great place to savor a genuine Tex-Mex experience.
Fast, Friendly Service
Don Pablo’s is busy and bustling on a cold, dreary February day in Richfield. The colorful, lively interior is a welcome relief from the gray Minnesota spring outside. After being shown to my table, fresh warm tortilla chips and salsa were immediately brought to me by my server. For more daring foodies, a “hotter” salsa is also available along with queso dip and guacamole. The store manager chats with regulars at surrounding tables, and my waitress seems to know everyone by name in her section.
In the mood for some lighter fare, I ordered the Ensenada Grilled Fish Tacos with black beans and rice. My food was brought to me within a couple of minutes, despite the large lunch crowd. With fresh, colorful ingredients and no shortage of spice, my fish tacos where exactly what I wanted. The black beans were also excellent, well-seasoned without being too spicy. Lunch was great, and the prices were decent with my fish tacos and iced tea coming to under $14.00.
If you’re in a hurry but still want the quality and atmosphere that comes with a sit-down restaurant, opt for the “Speedy Lunch” in which you can choose from a smaller list of items like tacos or tamales, that are served with Mexican rice and your choice of beans. Sandwiches, burgers, and a small kid’s menu are also available. The dinner menu is larger, with a wide variety of appetizers, dips and salads. Specialties like Steak and Enchiladas, and El Pollo Verde are available during dinner and are sure to please any Tex-Mex lover.
If you’re ready to party, Don Pablo’s has a full bar from which you can enjoy a variety of margaritas including their house specialty “Pablorita” featuring a blend of gold tequila, Triple sec and sweet & sour mix. Draft and bottled beer are also available, along with both white and red sangria.
If you have room for it, you can also sample some classic Mexican dessert options like Sopapillas, Fried Ice Cream, or a Chocolate Volcano.
Great Food, Great Atmosphere
Overall, Don Pablo’s is a great option for a family dinner, business people looking for a quick lunch spot, or a couple on a date. Classic Tex-Mex flavors in a friendly, inviting atmosphere are what you’ll find at Don Pablo’s in Richfield. The full bar, where the blender is always running, is available as well.
