Welcome to August! This is the time of year to take stock of your accomplishments so far, and to plan for fourth quarter and the holiday push.
This year, the Chamber has made some changes. In addition to our monthly member programming, we have added a morning meeting option called Coffee with the President. The Monthly Morning Meeting is held at the Chamber office and is a great way to grow your business network in an informal environment. It is also a great opportunity to check in with Anne, the Chamber President, and discuss relevant business and community topics. If a morning meeting doesn’t fit in your schedule, we have also added an evening Happy Hour. Happy Hours are hosted at member locations around town and are a great way for you to get out and familiarize yourself with other Chamber businesses.
We want you to know that in addition to adding some great programming and networking opportunities, your Chamber membership is so much more. We know that taking time away from your day-to-day schedule isn’t always feasible. Did you know that on our website, we are now partnering with MN Job Match. If you are tired of going through the hiring process only to discover your new hire is not a good fit, give the MN Job Match site a try and take your hiring process a step further. MN Job Match is offering a few complimentary job match profiles. If you would like to learn more about the hiring process and what this new partnership has to offer you, contact Anne today and she will get you started!
In addition to finding ways to help your company save money, we also are creating strong partnerships within our community. Did you join the Chamber because you wanted to promote a strong community image? One of the goals for the Chamber is to help educate our youth on real world business. Can you remember what you thought your “adult life” would be when you were in high school? Did you think of the traditional roles of a doctor, fireman or teacher? Or did you think of yourself in the business community at a desk in an office building all day? What are opportunities might you be able to pass along to a high school student? Did you know that as a result of our involvement with the Richfield High School, one of the DECA students is now getting real world experience with a summer internship. Take a minute to think about your own business goals and how the Chamber can help you reach them. Building your business network and starting with your Chamber community is a great way to take the first step towards accomplishing your goal.
