Last week at the Chamber, the Board of Director’s met to set the Calendar of Events for the year as well as to discuss goals for 2017. Events to look forward to for 2017 will be State of the City with Mayor Mike Howard. This is traditionally a morning meeting at City Hall and is tentatively scheduled for the third week in February. If you want to know what the goals of our local government are as they relate to economic development and city planning, this is a great meeting to attend. Once we have a firm date, we will be update our events calendar on the Chamber website (link to website). March will be the quarterly B.E.E.R. meeting hosted by our friends at the Edina Chamber of Commerce. The date will be March 29, at Edina Country Club. Networking hour will start at 11am and programming will end at 1pm. Our multi Chamber events, B.E.E.R. as we call them, represent members from Bloomington, Edina, Eden Prairie and Richfield. This year’s topics will fall under the umbrella of Navigating the Difficult Business Waters as defined by the MN Chamber of Commerce.
April will be our annual Salute to Small Business Event. We will recognize Chamber members who demonstrate superior qualities of leadership and commitment to our community. Do you know a business who fits this profile? Email your nomination to Anne at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The month of May is our opportunity to host B.E.E.R. In June, we will be hosting a meeting with Dean Breuer and Steven Unowsky on the DECA program and how our business community can help shape the business leaders of tomorrow! July is the City’s annual 4th of July celebration and this year we would like the represent the Chamber in the parade. So, grab your sunglasses and come show your support at the City’s biggest event of the year! Bloomington will be hosting our multi-chamber B.E.E.R. event in August where we will continue the discussion on the current climate of business. As the kids head back to school in September, we head to the links! If you have never been to our annual Golf Event, you will want to mark your calendar for this one! The Wild’s golf club in Prior Lake has hosted us the past 3 years and we are excited to go back this year. The course is one of the best in town and what could be more fun than enjoying a beautiful fall day with your business colleagues. In October, the Chamber will host an informational meeting on current marketing trends and how to make the most of your social media presence. This medium is ever changing in today’s digital world, how do you stay current? November in the last quarterly B.E.E.R. meeting hosted by our Eden Prairie friends. Ending out the year in December is our annual Holiday Party where we meet casually with Members to celebrate all our successes of the past year and look forward to what the nest year will hold for us. And last but not least, if you were wondering when we were going to actually get to have BEER with B.E.E.R., it’s December! The very last meeting of the year is BEER with B.E.E.R. An in formal gathering of all four Chambers and our members to relax and enjoy each other’s company.
